Mark Ramadan grew up on the sunny coast of Southern California, where he developed an early love for artisan food. His journey at Brown University took him in many directions, including that of financial education at Goldman Sachs Investment Banking and a degree in Economics and International Relations. Mark's two passions, food and business, finally intersected when he met Scott Norton and the spark resulted in the creation of Sir Kensington's Gourmet Scooping Ketchup.
Scott Norton grew up eating his mother's potent Armenian food: sujuk, yalanchi, lahmacun, and other unpronounceable dishes. Once he moved to Brown, his grandfather taught him how to prepare many such dishes. As an Economics concentrator with a penchant for the creative arts, he met Mark, and the two refined their aesthetic and gastronomic sensibilities together.
Mark and Scott started cooking homemade tomato ketchup while studying economics and Brown University. They thought it was curious that there were only a few dominant brands of ketchup on the market. They held tasting parties and came up with two flavor profiles: classic and spiced. With less sodium and sugar than leading brands of ketchup, burgers do indeed have a new best friend!
