Made in Scotland from a family recipe in a small artisan bakery, Oaties Sweet Biscuits are a traditional and delicious tea-time treat! Shortbread House of Edinburgh uses only the best quality ingredients, including Scottish rolled oats with the subtle addition of syrup and coconut. Delicious on their own or topped with jam or lemon curd, the biscuits are ideal served with tea, coffee, or a glass of ice cold milk.
The families behind the Shortbread House of Edinburgh come from rich baking traditions. Founded in the 1980's by Anna Wilson, the bakery was originally a one-woman show. Anna used her mother's recipes to create her high quality, handmade biscuits, widely acclaimed as the finest in the U.K.
Enter Anthony Laing and his wife, Fiona, who purchased the business in 1989. Anthony comes from a baking dynasty himself......his father was Lord Laing, chairman of United Biscuits. The Laing's, along with their children Christopher and Rupert, today oversee a business that exports to over 21 countries.
This is shortbread without shortcuts. The company prides itself on doing things properly, producing a range of handmade baked goods whose taste, texture and appearance is far superior to mass produced brands. The delicious offerings from the Shortbread House of Edinburgh are baked to order by a small team of bakers from the finest ingredients, ensuring their freshness and superb quality. From traditional hand-cut shortbread fingers to sweet oat biscuits made from Scottish rolled oats with a hint of coconut and golden syrup, these are baked goods at their best.
