In Arabic, Kamā means “desert truffle”, a rare, treasured delicacy that emerges from the desert after the first rains. Hidden beneath the earth until just the right moment, it is a fitting name for a company devoted to uncovering the extraordinary flavors and culinary traditions of Jordan.

Founded in 2013 by Jumana Jacir, Kamā was born from a desire to share the remarkable ingredients of Jordan with the world while creating meaningful opportunities for local women. Today, the company employs dozens of women who transform the region's finest ingredients into distinctive Arab specialties, drawing on recipes, techniques, and culinary wisdom passed down through generations.

At the heart of Kamā is a belief that food heritage is worth preserving—and that the women who carry that heritage forward deserve the opportunity to thrive. Traditional methods once practiced in family kitchens become a source of livelihood and economic independence, with every woman paid fairly for her work.

From vibrant sumac and fragrant za'atar to rich tahiniyeh and distinctive pomegranate molasses, each product tells a story of place, tradition, and craftsmanship. The result is an authentic expression of Jordanian food culture, thoughtfully brought to today's table.
